Individuality is a key thing when it comes to kitchen design, and we all like ours to be completely different to the next. But it can be a struggle to personalise our space and have our very own signature without any help.

I intend to give you three ways in which you can customise your kitchen which are also cost effective within this article.

Photography and pictures are an easy choice

This is a great idea for anyone who is looking to create a new theme in their kitchen or even add to a theme they already have.

Nowadays we spend the most of our awake hours in the kitchen and this has meant that also the most money we spend is also in this room of the house, however adding photography or pictures of art doesn’t have to be costly task whatsoever.

One very popular choice when it comes to adding these features to a room can be to have on focal point in which you have many photographs of the family or many artistic pictures, and create the theme around this. This is a good tactic as it can add a new mood to your kitchen giving a lovely relaxing homely feel to the place or you could in fact be giving it a really stylish feel.

So many think when we talk about pictures and photography that it has to be the pictures that are abstract for example, but it does not. In fact it can be the colour or the shape of the frames that allow us to create a new tone or theme to the kitchen.

By simply adding some abstract photo frames or even sticking to a colour theme with them, easily enough people will notice a trend set in the kitchen. For example having orange and black abstract photo frames around the kitchen will set the theme obviously as ‘orange and black’ but can begin to give a more architectural presence about the place. This can be done with all colours, and should probably be the same as the theme of your kitchen worktops for example.

Planting altering the mood

Plants add something to a room that over wise can be hard to do, colour. Plants not only aerate the a room but they also bring the great outdoors inside, and can make a room feel so much more exotic.

Also the plant pot can do the same job as a photo frame, if you choose an audacious plant pot, the plant itself doesn’t always matter, and you can create just about any theme you want from your plant pots and the plants.

Artifical colourful plants are something that I would advise if you want to add to the theme of your kitchen, and also keeping to the theme with the plant pot will really have a good effect on your kitchen. As long as you keep the upkeep of things in order you won’t believe your eyes at the changes.

The colour theme is vital! Pick on and stick to it!

A colour theme doesn’t have to be set by something as big as the drawers or even the worktops, but it is a huge part of anything you choose so make it one that you are going to stick too.

Little things you have in your kitchen can set the tone just as well as anything else for example the colour of your kettle, the style of your clock and the colour of your place mats will all give your kitchen a theme you choose.

If your kitchen is bright and cheerful and you want to continue this theme, having an abstract clock choice and a bright look to your table and ornaments will conclude the theme you was going for.

Just about anything in your kitchen can stick to this, like your oven gloves or the salt and pepper holders. Along with the bin, or even the tubs you keep you sugar and tea in will all help.
