Sizing a handle to the door

If you are replacing handles, the size is decided for you: match the hole centres and the new handle drops into the existing holes.

A wide pot drawer wants a longer handle than a narrow cupboard door, both for looks and because a short handle on a wide drawer makes it pull unevenly. Heavy or wide drawers
